From May 13 to 24, 2025, the 78th Cannes International Film Festival (Festival de Cannes) is being held in the city of Cannes, France. This year, Uzbekistan’s delegation is also actively participating in this prestigious event.

The Cannes Film Festival is one of the world’s most prestigious and oldest film events, first established in 1946. In addition to film screenings, the festival is well-known for Marché du Film, one of the largest markets in the global film industry.

Representing Uzbekistan, Furqat Usmonov, Director of the National Center for the Development of Cinematography, and Oybek Sodiqov, Deputy Director of the Documentary and Chronicle Films Studio, are attending various meetings and events within the framework of the festival and Marché du Film. They are holding discussions with international film organizations, producers, and distributors to establish partnerships and promote the international presence of Uzbek cinema.
