Commissioned by the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan, filming has officially begun on The Magic Jug, a co-production between “Uzbekfilm,” “Bayram,” and Russia’s “LENDOK” film studio.

Yesterday, the project team gathered in Saint Petersburg, where they held a traditional plate-breaking ceremony to mark the official start of the production process.

The film features actors from Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, highlighting its status as a significant international project.

The Magic Jug is being produced as part of Uzbekistan’s Living History program. The project aims to share the nation’s rich history and cultural heritage with a broad audience, especially inspiring respect for traditional values among the younger generation.

“Osmoni Falaklarda” Book Presentation Held

A presentation of the new book Osmoni Falaklarda (“Sky in the Heavens”) by renowned writer Khayriddin Sulton was held at the “Renessans” cinema house. This work stands out for its unique artistic approach and narrative mastery, as it explores a rarely covered theme in Uzbek literature — the lives of pilots.

The book portrays the courageous and resilient lives of pilots — often referred to as “sky falcons” — in a dramatic style. It delves into their emotional experiences during emergency situations, their love, duty, and loyalty to the homeland. The intense plot and unexpected twists reveal the delicate aspects of the human psyche, the characters’ moral courage, and internal struggles through vivid literary imagery.

The presentation was organized in a novel and creative format. Theatrical scenes, prose and poetry readings, musical performances, and video clips left a lasting impression on the audience.

The central message of the event was inspired by the words of great Uzbek writer Abdulla Qodiriy:

“Since we have stepped into a new era, we must follow its innovations in every way and feel a sense of duty to renew ourselves.”

This quote added deep symbolic meaning to the ceremony.

The event was organized in cooperation with the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Culture, the Cinematography Agency, the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, Uzbekistan Airways, and the Academy of Arts. The book was published by Adabiyot publishing house.
