As previously reported, the “Russian Film Festival in Uzbekistan” is taking place from May 29 to 31 of this year. The film screenings are organized in cooperation with the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation as part of the “Days of Russian Culture” program.
Today, the opening ceremony of the “Russian Film Festival in Uzbekistan” was held at the National Palace of Cinematic Art in Uzbekistan. The event featured speeches by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Lyubimova, and the Director of the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shuhrat Rizayev. In their remarks, they emphasized the growing strength of cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries and highlighted that cooperation in the field of cinema is reaching a new level.
The event was also attended by actress Yekaterina Domashenko, who starred in the film Blood Type; Marina Dovger, the screenwriter of 9 Seconds; Danil Trotsenko, the screenwriter of Cultural Comedy; along with other officials, members of the public, and media representatives. Following the opening ceremony, a screening of Blood Type was held for cinema enthusiasts.
For reference, the festival’s program includes screenings of Cultural Comedy, The Return of Parrot Kesha, Fedya: People’s Footballer, 9 Seconds, and Air. The event will continue until May 31.
